Free Design Part 2

// September 21st, 2010 // Stage Design

I had the opportunity to mix sound a Sunday or two during this series and snapped a few photos for your viewing pleasure. Lets see, it seems like we got a little bit of negative feedback on this one. I know one comment was, “Kinda looks like hell.” Hmm…I assure you, we weren’t going for that imagery, however you might image hell to be like. We weren’t, however, that crazy about the new gel color we used for frontlight on the guys on top of the big risers. Doesn’t seem like it fits does it?

  1. As someone who’s been to hell…I don’t think it looks too much like it. Na…just kidding…but hell wouldn’t look that cool. Great job!

    there is no way in hell id say it looks like that…badum ching. I like it. did you get the black sheets with white paint from Cameron Ware?

    As far as the lighting goes…I wouldn’t say I’m in love with the two tone look but, in some of the shots that were more blue heavy it worked well. did you use a no color blue? We’re using Bastard Amber as our front light and a no color blue as the back (can’t remember the number off the top of my head)

  4. As you know I always find pleasure in viewing pics of stage designs. lol.
    Sometimes people don’t get it-but there are always some who do.
    I certainly don’t see hell there…

    So I assume this was front lit? Also was it flat white paint?

  6. Wow, the “hell” aesthetic never crossed ny mind. I was thought the white pant on the banners was brilliant just because you could make it whatever color you wanted. I definitely remember being a little dumbfounded about it.
